Snake goddess

"Snake goddess" is a type of figurine depicting a woman holding a serpent in each hand, dated to the neo-palatial period of the Minoan civilization, 1700–1450 BCE. Examples have been found at multiple Minoan archaeological sites in Crete. The serpent is frequently associated symbolically with the renewal of life, as it periodically sheds its skin.
