
Aphrodite of Milos
Aphrodite of Milos, an ancient Greek statue and one of the most famous works of classical Greek sculpture was created sometime between 130 and 100 BCE. The statue depicts Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. Her name derives from the Greek word aphros (αφρός) "sea-foam", since, according to myth, she first emerged from the foaming sea.
