Ganymede
Representation taken from a red-figure, bell crater of 500-490 BCE. Ganymede was the loveliest of mortals, so the gods took him and made him Zeus' wine-pourer. The image is inpired by his abduction by Zeus: young Ganymede is playing with child’s toy hoop, while the cockerel he holds symbolizes a lover’s gift.
